Yesterday was a full, busy, beautiful day, the kind that reminds you just how rich life can be when you’re surrounded by love, good food, and a little bit of celebration. And this week, we got to celebrate one of my favorite humans on the planet: my better half, Steve Binns Jr.
Welcome to the “2nd half of the century continues” club, babe.
Another year around the sun, and you still make getting older look strong, sexy, and effortless.
We kept things simple but meaningful, enjoying some of our favorite foods, laughing, and giving ourselves permission to slow down for just a moment. Because when life gets busy (and let’s be honest, it always does), these moments matter more than ever.
Why Couples Who Train Together Build Something Bigger
If you know us, you know fitness isn’t just something Steve and I do. It’s part of who we are, both individually and as a team. And over the years, I’ve learned a truth I see over and over again in the couples I coach:
A couple who works out together doesn’t just get stronger, they build a legacy of health, longevity, and togetherness.
Here’s why:
1. You grow side by side. When you train with your partner, you’re constantly evolving, not in competition, but in support. You witness each other’s discipline, progress, and resilience. You cheer each other on. You show up even when it’s hard, and that energy spills into every part of your relationship.
2. You bond over shared goals.Health becomes something you build together. Whether it’s hitting a Personal Record, getting back into a routine, or committing to long-term wellness, you’re aligned in the pursuit of a vibrant life. That shared mission strengthens connection in a way few things can.
3. You model healthy love. One of the greatest gifts you can give your family, now and for generations, is the example of a partnership rooted in vitality, movement, and self-care. A couple who values their health is a couple who values their life together.
4. You create rituals that last.Maybe it’s a morning walk, maybe it’s a weekend lift, maybe it’s meal prepping while dancing in the kitchen. Healthy rituals become traditions, and traditions become legacies.
5. You stay together because you feel good together.Movement boosts your mood, your confidence, and yes… your chemistry. When two people feel good in their bodies and in their lives, they naturally feel more connected to each other.
Celebrating Steve… and Every Couple Investing in Their Future
As we celebrated Steve’s birthday, I couldn’t help but think about how much our shared commitment to health has shaped our lives, and how grateful I am for the man who continues to grow with me year after year.
We’re not just aging… we’re elevating.We’re not just working out… we’re building a future.We’re not just celebrating a birthday… we’re celebrating the legacy we’re creating together.
To the couples out there on a similar path: keep going. Keep choosing each other. Keep choosing your health. Your future selves and your families will thank you.
And to my sexy birthday man: here’s to another year of love, strength, laughter, and living this life to the fullest. I love you, always.
