Being a Part of LGBTQ Outdoors Has Already Changed Me, And Here’s Why It Matters

Over the years, I’ve seen how movement, community, and the outdoors can transform a person’s life, but being part of LGBTQ Outdoors has opened my heart in an entirely new way.
When I signed on to host my first event, I expected a meaningful day outside. What I didn’t fully expect was the powerful, soul-level shift that happens when a group of people come together in nature with the shared intention of simply being who they are: fully, freely, unapologetically.
From the moment everyone arrived, I could feel the energy. Strangers became teammates. Nervous smiles turned into laughter. Stories were shared, support was offered, and a sense of belonging settled over the space like sunlight through the trees.
And in that moment, I realized something: creating inclusive outdoor spaces isn’t just about going on an adventure. It’s about creating a place where people feel seen, understood, and safe.
LGBTQ Outdoors is doing something truly special. It’s building community for queer and trans individuals who want to explore the outdoors without fear, without judgment, and without having to shrink themselves. The impact is real, and the need for these spaces is greater than many people realize.
This organization helps people:
• Connect with others who share their experiences
• Heal through nature and movement
• Discover confidence, joy, and resilience
• Experience authentic belonging in outdoor spaces that haven’t always felt welcoming
And right now, they need our support to keep this mission alive.
If you believe in community…
If you believe nature should belong to everyone…
If you believe that outdoor spaces should be safe, inclusive, and empowering…
Then I invite you from the bottom of my heart to help in whatever way you can, whether that’s donating, sharing the fundraiser, or simply spreading the word. Every single share and every single dollar makes a difference.
Community grows when we nurture it. Belonging strengthens when we show up for one another.
I’m honored to be a part of LGBTQ Outdoors, and I’m committed to helping this organization continue to build spaces where people can breathe deeply, explore boldly, and know with absolute certainty: you belong here.
Thank you for being part of this mission with us.
